29^rd Alföld Photo Contest

is open from 28 October to 18 November 2023.

The purpose of the exhibition is to provide a permanent platform for the high-quality, artistic photographs of photographers.

Conditions of entry: photographers may submit any photographs taken after 2016 which have not been exhibited at the Alföld Photo Contest previously. Artists are allowed to enter maximum 5 photographs (digital prints, colour, black and white, monochrome- traditionally printed on photo paper or silver prints). We are in anticipation to see traditional black and white, camera obscura images as well as ones created with artisan photographic processes such as argentotype, cyanotype, anthrakotype, oil print, salt print, dye transfer print, etc.)

We only accept prints of size 30 x 40 cm (11.8 x 15.7 in) or mounted on paperboard of this size which can be no thicker than 2 mm; the size of the actual photograph is optional, it is at the discretion of the artist. In certain cases we accept framed-up images in any size which are suitable for exhibition. The artist needs to arrange transportation to and from the venue for these.

The images selected for the exhibition will be requested in digital format with a longer side of 25 cm (9.8 in), 300 dpi, for creating a catalogue of size A4. The complete selection will be uploaded to the website of the Szentes Camera Club in the size of 300 x 500 pixels. The complete exhibited selections of previous years can be viewed under the menu item “Fotókiállítások” on the website.

Entry fee: HUF 1,500 (The entry fee covers the cost of creating the A4-sized catalogue and the return of photographs. Each contestant will receive a catalogue.)

Awards: 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd place awards (unique bronze plaquette) and 5 special awards (prize and certificate)
